2026 Bird in Hand Sauvignon Blanc

Regular price AU $27.00

The 2026 vintage across South Australia has been defined by a cooler, slower start, punctuated by bursts of intense heat that placed pressure on ripening and vine water demand. Many regions tracked 10–14 days behind average, with heatwaves further delaying maturity.
A late‑summer rain event proved pivotal. Rather than compromising fruit, it acted as a “ripeness reset,” refreshing canopies, easing vine stress, and allowing fruit to settle into better balance. This shift slowed ripening just enough to support flavour development and retention of natural acidity.

For aromatic varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, the combination of slower ripening, refreshed canopies, and concentrated berries has set the stage for wines with lifted aromatics, intense varietal expression, and balanced acidity, positioning 2026 as a promising year for Sauvignon Blanc.

2026 Sauvignon Blanc shows vibrant and aromatic aromas, opening with lemon zest, passionfruit pulp and fresh-cut herbs. Hints of lime leaf and white florals add varietal lift and intensity. The concentrated palate sings, with lively lime, zesty grapefruit and a touch of white nectarine. The natural acidity gives precision and length, carrying the fruit through to a crisp, focused finish.

Best enjoyed young as an aperitif or paired with seafood such as oily grilled fish, chargrilled squid and fresh prawns.
