The cool climate, fertile Clare Valley is renowned for its Riesling grape variety, and fruit for this wine was sourced from one single vineyard in the Stanley Flat sub-region.
The handpicked fruit was whole bunch pressed in order to ensure gentle extraction of the juice from the berries before undergoing a long, cool fermentation of 13 days. The wine was then left on light lees for six weeks priority to bottling young and fresh.
The wine is floral and fragrant on the nose, complemented by hints of jasmine and wet limestone. A quintessential Clare Valley Riesling, it has intense citrus flavours that are driven by fresh, crisp, mineral acidity.
Pairing well with delicate fish and light Asian dishes, the Riesling is a good match to spaghetti marinara or Vietnamese chicken salad.
