2018 TED Tribute Chardonnay

The Tribute Series represents the very pinnacle of Bird in Hand’s pursuit of excellence in winemaking. The rare wines show the incredible beauty and quality of which the terroir is capable, expressing a unique moment in time with elegance, power and finesse.

Whole bunch pressed directly to French oak barriques, only the most exceptional were selected for the Tribute Series label. The barrels were left to mature for 14 months, the longest maturation of Chardonnay ever undertaken at Bird in Hand. On the nose, the wine displays complex and intense characteristics of white peach and pink grapefruit supported by notes of hazelnut, oatmeal and matchstick. Finely crafted to create an intensely flavoured Chardonnay, the palate has a nuanced and delicate mouth feel with restrained oak. Length of flavour, a hallmark of this wine and this vintage.
