2021 Marie Cabernet

The Tribute Series represents the very pinnacle of Bird in Hand’s pursuit of excellence in winemaking. The rare wines show the incredible beauty and quality of which the terroir is capable, expressing a unique moment in time with elegance, power and finesse.

The 2021 season in the Adelaide Hills was widely considered exceptional and very classic. The long and stable season allowed grapes to develop balanced flavours, retain natural acidity, and be harvested at optimal ripeness.

The wine shows deep, layered aromas of mulberry, cassis, cinnamon, cigar box, sandalwood, and roasted peppers. As it rests in the glass, these different characters continue to emerge and evolve, adding complexity over time.

The palate is centred on flavours of blackcurrant, dark chocolate, coffee, nutmeg, and roasted herbs. Fine, well-structured tannins support the wine, giving it impressive depth, balance, and a long, lingering finish.

The 2021 Marie is a dense Cabernet Sauvignon that will cellar extremely well and reward the patient and discerning collector.
