Grapes were sourced from two unique, carefully selected sites in West Tamar valley and Derwent valley.
Handpicked and sorted fruit underwent whole bunch pressing and only the free run juices were used for this wine. Cold settling, followed by cool fermentation ensured preservation of fruit forward characters, followed by six weeks on light lees to enhance mouth feel.
Aromas of fresh grapefruit and tangerine, with floral hints of honeysuckle and lily of the valley. On the palate, this crisp and vibrant wine bursts with lively lemon and green apple flavours, accented by a subtle hint of honey mead spice. Its textured body reveals slate undertones, while energising acidity adds persistency and purity to the finish.
2024 Pinot Noir
Grapes were sourced from a carefully selected block on the western bank of the River Tamar in northern Tasmania. This unique site is renowned for its cool climate and well drained gravel soils, which promote fresh acidity and vibrant fruit expression in Pinot Noir.
Lightly crushed with a portion of whole clusters, fermentation is gentle to extract light colour and tannins. Wine is pressed into a mix of stainless steel and old French oak barrels for maturation, toe nsure the vibrant fruit character is preserved.
This vibrant ruby-red wine entices with aromas of red raspberries, delicate florals, fresh herbs, and a touch of spice. The palate follows suit, revealing bright red cherries, tangy red currants, lively acidity, and smooth, supple tannins.
2024 Reserve Pinot Noir
Grapes were sourced from a low yielding block in the Tamar Valley in northern Tasmania. This unique site is renowned for its cool climate and well drained soils, resulting in concentrated fruit expression of Pinot Noir with power and finesse.
The grapes were handpicked and meticulously sorted to ensure maximum quality. During fermentation, careful cap management led to a fuller-bodied, more structured profile, while the inclusion of whole bunches imparted subtle complexity and spice to the blend. The wine was then matured for 6 months in a combination of old and new French oak barrels, enhancing its depth, complexity, and overall character.
Aromas of black cherries and plums, with dry herbs and hints of cedar and vanilla spice. On the palate, the wine is rich and smooth, with dark fruit, and well-integrated oak flavours. Velvety tannins and lively acidity provide balance, leading to a long, satisfying finish.
Cellaring will reward the discerning collector.
